Superfood cookies

We have seen some amazing creations on social media and always wonder “where did they find those cookies” or “I wonder how they made that!”  Thinking about it more and doing a bit of research… we couldn’t easily find what we were looking for locally and decided to fill the need in house.  We worked with a cookie mentor to be able to provide a treat option (superfood snacks) that you can offer your dog that is more than just a cute cookie.

While nutritional  supplements can easily be added to your dogs daily meals (dry, wet or raw) we offer a selection in the form of treats - we know dogs can be like kids at times and they may prefer “treats” to the obviously healthy items (it may also have to do with textures)

We know there are dogs out there that just need / want to chew (we have one too!) With many products causing concern health wise be it dental, choking hazard or containing toxic materials… there are only a few natural options to consider - and even less that are durable or meant to be ingested.

One of them is the YAK chew - typically from Yak’s milk but at times may be a combination of Yak & Cow’s milk. This hard cheese chew is a healthy option for those power chewers.  Knowing we always try to sneak in added health benefits to what we offer our dogs, we have worked hard to source high quality GOURMET OPTIONS to offer you for your dog(s) to enjoy.

When there is a small “nub” of hard cheese left, be sure to remove from your dog - not only do we want to avoid a choking hazard but there is also an opportunity to create a different texture treat and zero waste result from this chew.  You can soak the ”nub” for a few minutes and then place in the microwave for 30-60 seconds *depending on your microwave wattage and nub size, if not fully puffed reheat in 15 second intervals. It will result in a crunchy cheese puff that your dog can enjoy once it’s cooled down! Another texture to discover and again - zero waste, zero harm!

If you may be concerned with how hard these chews are, you can soak them in hot water for 15 mins to soften them prior to offering one to your dog.  We also suggest  setting a time limit on their chew  session -  typically  10mins and then encourage a break and a drink of water.
