Our Lick-A-Bull mats are a great option for small meals, liquid-based snacks such as kefir, coconut oil, broth, peanut butter and yogurt. They can be served fresh or frozen. When placed in the freezer for a few hours, you will notice that it lengthens the time it takes your dog to work through the mat. Serving frozen can be a great way to cool off indoors on a hot day or during recovery periods.
The models we offer allow different levels of complexity with smaller/tighter patterns requiring more effort on the part of your dog to lick all the goodness of the mat. Our mats have a slightly deeper outer edge than others on the market to allow a higher volume to be coated with a small "spill edge" to help reduce spilling during transfer to the freezer or floor.
Licking can bring the following advantages:
♥ Relaxation
♥ Mental stimulation
♥ Slows down meal time, improves digestion
Inspiration: Raccoons or as many call them “Trash Pandas”
It is a nod to cities/areas these cute but troublesome creatures call home. Having grown up outside of Toronto we had several come through our area, in fact my folks have an entire raccoon family that frequently walks their fence line for the last several summers. They can be entertaining and impressive with what they can get up to (or in to!) Although I have moved to a different city, I still get visits from these critters in our yard… guess we can’t escape them. So we decided to design this mat as fun way to embrace these creatures without all the hassle.
This mat has large open sections and smaller fillable sections which are more difficult to lick contents out of. The mat features raccoon faces, garbage bags, crumpled trash, left over pizza and apples/cores. We have also include a few small “bumps” that provide additional texture in the voids to keep the dogs navigating. We also have our Trash Panda treats which are fun to pair with this mat!
