Not all dogs / lifestyles will allow for raw feeding (although there are many benefits of doing so) but don’t feel like your dog is missing out or you aren’t doing enough to provide a healthy diet. There are other ways to improve a basic dry food diet. You can add superfood treats, frozen snacks, fresh veggies/herbs from your garden & much more!
Below are just a handful of options to consider / their benefits are noted, of course when trying anything new be sure to monitor your dog for signs of allergic reactions or dislike/avoidance. You may also wish to consult with your veterinarian if your dog has preexisting medical conditions to ensure it is ok to do so.
** These suggestions do not replace the need for veterinary care or diagnosis, they are not intended as treatment of health concerns, but rather a way to help improve or enhance their meal time with added benefits naturally.
You know those smoothie bowls you see on social media that look to pretty to eat?!?! Well now you can make one for your dog too. This little tin of goodness has some of the ingredients you’ll need to create a tasty topping to any meal - add yogurt (and rolled oats if you are feeling adventurous) and you are all set! Açai berry powder should be used in moderation as a little goes a long way.
Chia seeds help your dog to feel more full curbing some snacking cravings for those dogs that always seem to be hungry. Smearing a mix like this across a LickA-BULL mat is a great option for engaging their senses and slowing down how fast they consume it. Mats can be offered fresh or frozen.
Powder: Acai Berry with Chia Seeds
Dehydrated: Pineapple and Blueberry
This tin is packed with anti-inflammatory properties that help with both the body and mind! Turmeric can take a bit to develop a liking to as it does have a strong smell/taste (you may wish to add some water to help stick to dry food)
You can create “GOLDEN PASTE” with turmeric, yogurt and a pinch of black pepper to activate it - this is great for smearing across a lickmat!
The sweet pepper is a great treat to offer in both fresh and dehydrated forms *green pepper tends to be too bitter for the pallet so we use red and orange primarily, with the occasional yellow or purple from the garden when available.
Powder: Turmeric
Dehydrated: Sweet Peppers
This tin does not contain any powder but has a variety of dried berries to provide a great mixed source of antioxidants. They will add a pop of colour and a bit of texture to your dog’s meal - and add benefit regardless of if you feed kibble or raw.
Like all our dehydrated fruits and veggies they are human grades, so we wouldn’t be surprised it you snuck a few yourself!
Dehydrated: Blueberry, Cranberry, Goji Berry and Raspberry
This tin is packed with antioxidants and vitamins, promoting bladder health, helping to decrease blood pressure and support the immune system. We have offering these benefits in two forms making it a quick treat/decorative meal topper or just a quick sprinkle and go when you need to get meals done quickly but don‘t want to skip on the healthy stuff.
Powder: Cranberry/ Blueberry

Although seeing a dog in glasses may look cute, we know it’s not practical. So improving/maintaining their eye health naturally is important! Carrots are a well known source for this so we have worked it in to two options (powder and dehydrated curls) to ensure it’s something fun and easy for your dog to consume.
Swiss chard also helps with vision, not to mention supports the liver, colon and immune system. You can off your dog the greens in moderation, be watchful of upset stomachs. We have opted to work in just the stalks for added colour / crunch to our tin.

Naturally help your dog‘s gut health and parasite/flea control with this little tin of goodness!
Diatomaceous Earth isn‘t something we think about often and vet clinics don’t typically discuss as part of parasite control in clinic… but rest assured that’s what it’s there for! This soft powder can easily be added to help keep you dogs gut in check.
Rabbit ears (I know it can sound well…ewwww I felt the same at first!) but they provide a natural way to help your dogs digestion with the fur being a key factor - they just happen to love the crunch as a bonus!
*Rabbit ears can be broken down into smaller pieces
Powder: Diatomaceous Earth
Treat: (x2) Rabbit ears
We opted to use BISON as we know many dogs (ours included) have protein allergies. Dogs commonly have sensitivity to chicken and at times beef as well, these allergies may extend to other proteins that are mass produced and in most commercial foods. So finding alternate sources that work well can seem overwhelming - we have tried a few and bison seems to satisfy them taste wise and not cause added itch or gut upset.
Hemp protein contains calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamin E (and is considered a source of protein) It is considered to be hypoallergenic and widely accepted by sensitive dogs.
Powder: Hemp Protein
Freeze dried raw: Bison
Quail have become a new personal passion of ours and the dogs love their eggs! Now not all dogs love the texture of a solid egg or wont eat the shell - but the shell has lots of goodness to it so we don’t want them to miss out on any of this gem! They are rich in protein, nutrients and omega 3 fatty acids. They can help prevent anemia, they improve muscle mass, provide support to the brain, bones and teeth… and if that isn’t enough they also help to regulate blood sugar.
So yeah… this power is like powder gold & a high QUAILity ingredient to add into their diet.
*Allergies: for dogs who are allergic to chicken, quail becomes a great alternative!

You don’t have to tell me twice! G is for Green and this one doesn’t disappoint! Deep green algae (spirulina) is great to use as a topper but works event better when mixed with yogurt or a cheese base for maximum visual impact of the colouration and ensuring it sticks well to the food and doesn’t get lost in the air as it’s a fairly light/loose powder despite its dense look. Spirulina boosts the immune system, provides support to the gut, reduces inflammation and detoxifies the system.
